Our Story
Anna Favata Pasta was created to honor the traditions that shaped my family and my love of food.
My name is Ann Marie, and Anna Favata brings together the names of my mother and grandmothers — Maria Dominica Favata Scialo, Anna Scialo, and Concetta Favata — whose kitchens taught me that pasta is more than food; it is memory, care, and connection.
I grew up making pasta at home, with Sundays centered around handmade bread, simmering sauce, and family at the table. My father's family came from Naples, my mother's from Puglia — two regions deeply rooted in pasta-making traditions. My grandfather carried those traditions forward through a pizzeria in the Catskills and an Italian market and restaurant in New York City.
Anna Favata Pasta is my way of honoring that legacy — crafting small-batch pasta with intention, tradition, and respect for the ingredients, just as it was made in my family for generations.
